Sushen Kulshrestha: Founder & CEO
Sushen is founder and Chief Executive Officer at STERN Capital Pte Ltd. Sushen Kulshrestha has over 12 years of experience in managing proprietary funds, research and capital markets. Sushen has been able to generate impressive growth with low volatility over this period. He has experience covering markets globally. He has researched and evaluated many of actively managed strategies across asset classes and likes to combine fundamental analysis with disciplined investment approaches under tight risk management constraints. He has put in place state of the art equity execution system and uses proprietary algos for quant trading focusing on arbitrage and dispersion strategies. Sushen earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Gujarat University (India) and has Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Fore School of Management (New Delhi).
Lavan Kumar: Director Operations & Risk
Lavan Kumar has over 15 years experience in managing Funds. He has been involved in the entire life cycle of a Fund, from inception to divestment. Lavan’s responsibilities include managing the daily operations of the company, monitoring the Fund’s performance, compliance with regulatory requirements, monitoring and evaluation of risks for the fund and development of new risk-managed trading strategies. Prior to joining Stern, Lavan was managing a Korean hedge fund and prior to that, an Indonesian Family Office. Apart from running a Fund, Lavan also has experience in trading (ETFs, options, Futures) when he was a Portfolio Manager and a Proprietary Trader. Lavan graduated with a Bachelor in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He also has a Specialist Diploma in Fund Administration and Management from Nanyang Polytechnic and is an Alumni of the Henley Executive Hedge Fund Program (Henley Business School).
Pei San Law: Finance Head
With over 15 years of experience in corporate finance, Pei San is a seasoned finance professional specializing in financial and tax reporting. She has managed financial resources, ensured compliance with cross-border financial regulations, and overseen corporate financial planning and analysis. Pei San excels in stakeholder management, tax compliance, and financial analysis, and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Her strong communication and negotiation skills have been pivotal in liaising with clients and regulatory bodies, both domestically and internationally.
Caleb Tang: Independent Director
Tang is Independent Non-Executive Director at Stern Capital Pte Ltd. Tang has over 18 years of experience in the areas of risk, controls and regulatory compliance in the financial services industry. He has a diversified set of skills set and experience which includes corporate governance, regulatory advisory, policy implementation, project management, control room, complaint handling, tax reporting and compliance review. Tang graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business (Applied Economics) from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and is a Certified Internal Auditor issued by The Institute of Internal Auditors and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist issued by The Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.
